The SWE Boston Career Guidance Committee is starting a new program for mentoring high school girls grades 9-12 in Massachusetts and we are looking for interested students!
If you know of any high school students interested in learning more about science, math, and engineering careers consider allowing them to speak with a professional that works in these fields. Throughout the months of October to May, SWE Boston volunteer mentors will be available to discuss over email their jobs and answer any questions students may have about working as an engineer in their field. Students may also have an opportunity for a job shadow as well as meeting their mentors.
Examples of additional subjects that could be discussed with the student throughout the year include:

  • October-November: Introductions, Students Interests, and Open Forum
  • December-January: The Students Math and Science Classes
  • March-April: Math and Science Enrichment Opportunities
  • May: College Interests, Engineering Curriculum

If you are a teacher or parent and would like to inquire about giving your students mentors, please contact SWE Boston member and mentoring coordinator, Marie Tupaj.
