Program Management Associate

The Associate, Program Management will be responsible for leading business process design and re-engineering projects related to athenahealth's internal service operations.   • Ability to guide complex features from initial concept to production and post-launch evaluation
  • Experience with both structured and agile development processes
  • Current knowledge of web technologies, tools and trends

Technical Project Associate

We are currently searching for a self-motivated and technically-minded individual to take on the role of Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) Business Analyst. The ERA transaction, also known as the 835, is an electronic explanation of medical benefits providing details about claim payments, transfers, adjustments, and denials. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the ERA transaction including: testing for new payers, infrastructure and process development, transaction flow analysis and monitoring, and additional projects aimed at reducing waste in the medical claim workflow.

To succeed you will need to be a strong analytical problem solver, have excellent attention to detail and be able to work with a vast amount of information in a fast paced setting. You should be able to thrive in both independent and team environments and comfortable communicating between the business and development teams. You will act as a trusted advisor to both internal and external clients.

The ERA Associate will report to the Manager of ERA based at our headquarters, located in Watertown, Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Analyze results of new payer testing, communicate problem identification and resolution recommendations to development resources, and coordinate corrective action to minimize the effect of changing remittance processing from paper to ERA
  • Research payer denial codes and map them into appropriate denial categories in athenaNet to automate remittance processing
  • Analyze missing remittance, denial codes, posting trends and resolve root-cause issues by working with vendors, payers and various athena departments that are stakeholders in electronic transaction processes
  • Be responsible for partnership with stakeholders and creating posting rules to increase posting automation and accuracy
  • Write/execute SQL queries in support of new payer testing and troubleshoot operational issues
  • Use baseline research and analysis to advocate for product and process improvement
  • Proactively monitor ERA performance metrics to identify additional ERA opportunities

Skills
