About the Speaker
Lisa Svensson, CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), works with families and businesses to develop plans to help meet their life financial goals, and to preserve and protect their assets in turbulent environments.
Following a sixteen year career as an analyst and portfolio manager, Lisa joined Merrill Lynch in 2008. Her goal was to put her experience managing a multi-billion dollar, globally diversified equity fund to work for individuals and businesses. A petroleum engineer by training, she worked as an analyst and portfolio manager for a number of well-known mutual fund firms in New York and Boston, including Alliance Capital, Lord Abbett, Smith Barney and Putnam Investments. Over the course of her career, Lisa has analyzed the stocks of energy companies, wireless telecoms, transportation stocks, gold stocks, utilities and retailers.
Lisa graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering. She received her MBA from Cornell University's Johnson School. Lisa holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, and is a member of Boston Women in Finance, the Boston Securities Analyst Society, the CFA Institute, and the Newton Needham Chamber of Commerce.
